New Moon Teaching 5

If you want to climb to the summit of the mountain, you will need determination. Determination on a mundane level, is the emergence of focus. Focus is the cultivated ability to sustain awareness of the current reality. The aim is to live truthfully with sincerity and determination. Show an open mind, help others, respect human ethics, however most importantly, be governed by your calling.

If you follow your calling, you will discover your passion. Passion is the feeling of pure love, which arises when the self is no more. What type of work do you do and after it, you feel energized by it? What makes you feel in your full power? Explore, nurture and nourish your passion carefully. Your passion provides a blueprint for your purpose. Our purpose provides guidance to our determination.

‘It is said that every person has a ‘sea of yang’ (an ocean of primal energy), beyond our normal energy reserves, that very few ever access. This ‘sea of yang’ is only tapped in life when working in our passion towards our purpose, which is unique to each individual’

Determination, in this sense, has little to do with ambition and striving. As Laozi says, ‘teaching without words and working without doing, are understood by very few.’ Let the calling of your design fill you in much the same way blood pulses through your veins. In this way, your purpose and your determination will never waiver. The work is only the ‘burning away’ of conditioning.

We are continually subject to conditioning and consequently must work to refine our approach to avoid derangement of the energetic structure of mind and body. Focus on the current reality.

We are all designed for this great adventure to the summit of the mountain! If you recognize this and want to restore balance and harmony, the task requires determination. To restore and maintain balance and harmony is to develop resilience and clarity. This is the resilience and clarity ever present and necessary in the face of inevitable adversity and turbulence. The work is only in the moment-to-moment application of the principle.

Are you flowing with the current reality rather than swimming against its tide?
